600 – Miniature: Any technique, any design; each block must be 3 inches square or smaller. Length plus width must be equal to 30 inches or less; made by one person including the quilting.

700 – Art Quilt: Must be an original wall hanging design, made by one person. Any technique can be used; kits, patterns, block of month are not allowed.

800 – Other Techniques: Any technique not fitting into another category, such Page 1 of 2 as; hand red work, hand embroidery, whole cloth. Entry form must indicate if it was a joint effort quilted by someone other than the entrant.

900 – Modern: Quilts that are functional, minimalist, and inspired by modern design. Bold colors and modern prints may be used as well as areas of neutral color to provide negative space. Modern quilts often use asymmetry in design, improvisational piecing, the reinterpretation of traditional blocks or the lack of visible block structure. They are generally quilted simply with lines of stitching or grid patterns.

1000 – Novice: Quilt must be made entirely by someone under the age of 21.

1100 – Guild and Group Challenges: This category honors the results when a quilt guild or quilt group issues a challenge to their members . The guild or group sets the rules, choosing the fabric, pattern, theme, size, ect. Each guild or group may submit only one challenge. A minimum of 4, to a maximum of 8 is required. Each quilter should fill out an entry form with appropriate pictures.

1200 – Wearable Art: Clothing or accessories; any technique; batting and quilting are required.

1300 – Home Décor: Any item used in the home, such as; table runners, pillows, place mats, pot holders, ect. Made entirely by one person, including the quilting.

If you're unsure where your pieces fits, contact Marian McCoin for help and suggestions.

And also, the rules

1. The quilt must be made by the person entering the quilt. It must have been finished no earlier than 2015. If you did not do your own quilting, the name of the quilter must be stated on the entry form. Members may enter 3 quilts in the show. You may not have more than one quilt judged in the same category. We will accept all three quilts as long as there is space available. Members may also enter one in each of the following categories: Guild and Group Challenge, Wearable Art, and Home Décor.

2. Non Members may enter a quilt for a fee of $20.00 if space is available.

3. All entries must be clean and free of odors or pet hair. No wooden frames or stretcher bars are allowed. Entries must be constructed of fabric and quilted. No tied quilts will be accepted for judging.

4. You must complete a separate registration form for each quilt. If it is to be picked up by someone other than the entrant, the appropriate section must be completed on the registration form.

5. Each quilt will be assigned an entry number which you will receive prior to judging day. Write the number on 2 4” squares of muslin with a permanent marker. Pin one on the back of your quilt in the lower left hand corner. Pin the second one on the pillow case or wrapping. These numbers should stay on until after the quilts are picked up from the show.

6. Each entry should have a name label affixed to it. Cover this label with a blank piece of cloth to provide anonymity on judging day.

7. Each entry must be received in its own cloth casing, such as a pillowcase. This case must be permanently marked with owners Name, Address and Phone Number in Large Readable Letters.

8. For display purposes quilts should be fitted with a 4 inch hanging sleeve on the back. If the quilt is smaller than 36” and you are OK with having it displayed using pins you can omit the sleeve.

9. Any quilt previously entered in a Crazy Quilters Show will not be accepted unless it is requested for display only.

10. The Show Committee and judge reserve the right to accept, reject, or reclassify entries. All judged entries will receive written evaluations with their quilts when returned from the show.

11. The entrant agrees to abide by the rules and decisions of the Crazy Quilters show committee and judge when they complete the registration form. Each quilt entry form must be accompanied by a 4 x 6 full view picture of the finished quilt and a close up view for detail. Adhere the pictures to the appropriate places on page 2 of the entry form. The entrant acknowledges the Crazy Quilters will take every precaution to safeguard quilts in their custody, but understand that they cannot be responsible for accidental damage or loss of entered quilts.

12. There is no entry fee for members of Port St. Lucie Crazy Quilters. Non Members will be charged a $20.00 fee. Quilts entered by PSLCQ members will be considered for entry before Non Members.

Entry forms can be found on the Guild Website 2018 Show page.
